The COVID-19 crisis has put millions of migrants, small and marginal farmers out of work and has depleted their savings. Without enough support there is a risk of severe indebtedness and higher food insecurity. With the prolonged impact of this crisis, these families are highly vulnerable to health shocks, children face disruption in education, and malnutrition in them is sure to increase, leading to distress decisions and life shocks. Though many organisations have come forward to provide immediate relief and sustenance support, this might not be enough.
We believe that collective action is needed to truly mitigate the long term effects of Covid-19. To help the poor fight their way out of the crisis, the government has accelerated welfare reforms and allocations. We hope to create sustainable change in the lives of the poorest by expanding the reach and impact of government programs in partnership with a wide network of SHGs, credible nonprofits, CSOs and other implementing organisations with the support of CSR programs, Philanthropic Foundations and Individual Philanthropists.
